Global Promotion
Digital Promotion
While academic books are sold primarily to university libraries, it is often the faculty who decide which titles are selected, so we put significant resources into reaching faculty to inform them of new titles.
Your books will be included in several bespoke email campaigns sent out at various times during the months surrounding pre and post publication.
Our email database is divided into over 300 sub-topics. By carefully segmenting our contacts we make our marketing more relevant and useful to researchers. Books are frequently interdisciplinary and we cross market to all related disciplines where relevant.
We use PPC advertising such as Amazon Adverts and Google Ads to ensure your book appears as a priority result in online searches. Publication of your book will be announced in our online catalogues, mailed widely across our contacts and disseminated via our social media channels.
If you are involved in any academic societies, or your department has a scholarly mailing list, we would encourage you to self promote your book, or send us the contact details so we can do this on your behalf.
Endorsements
Supportive endorsements quotes from respected peers act as an important recommendation of your book to potential readers, book buyers and librarians.
As part of our manuscript submission checklist we will ask you to suggest the names of three or four eminent figures in the field we could approach for an endorsement quote.
Ideally the potential endorsers you recommend should represent the diversity and international range of the subject and, if possible, with at least one based in the US.
Our editorial team will send an invitation to potential endorsers to read your manuscript and write a short endorsement we can use in the marketing for your book. This happens shortly after the submission of your manuscript to allow plenty of time to source endorsements ahead of publication.
Endorsements are used on our website, in marketing material such as catalogues and flyers and on our social media channels. They are also included on the back of your book cover, subject to space.
